We, your ZIWA Board of Directors, hope that this letter finds all of you in good health during this very challenging health crisis.
In view of the current public-health situation regarding COVID-19, and the Swiss Government’s imposed restrictions on public movement and gatherings, the ZIWA Board is announcing a postponement to the ZIWA Annual General Meeting which was scheduled to be held on May 13th, 2020. The AGM has been now re-scheduled to September 9th, 2020, and will take place on that date providing Government restrictions have been lifted.
Your Board has been and will continue to meet regularly (electronically) to ensure that ZIWA meets its financial commitments and reporting requirements. In this respect, our financial books will close at the usual year end of March 31st, 2020, and our financial records will be submitted for review by an accredited accounting firm. The new membership year begins April 1st, and so far, renewals are looking very healthy for the coming year.
All reports that are required to be communicated to our membership (i.e., reviewed financial statements, 2020/21 budget, annual reports), will be forthcoming in the June issue of the ZIWA News magazine.
The current ZIWA Board of Directors (2019/20) will continue in their respective positions until the September, 2020 Annual General Meeting – with 2 exceptions:
Ileen Sangster has replaced Amy Yarbrough as Treasurer and Georgina Malone will replace Antonella Stainbrook as Communications Director. Both Ileen and Georgina have been appointed to these positions by the Board, who are authorised to do so under the ZIWA Constitution (Article 5.8). The formal election of the Board of Directors for 2020/21 by the ZIWA membership will take place at the September AGM.
Please be assured that your ZIWA Board is active behind the scenes to keep our Association operating during this unusual time. As you may have already read in the ZIWA e-newsletter and on Facebook, the ZIWA Member Care Team is actively reaching out to the membership to coordinate efforts to help members receive any support they require.
