Monthly Meetings
ZIWA Christmas Lunch
9 December 2011
ZIWA Christmas Lunch at the Zürichberg Hotel turned out to be not only a great opportunity to meet the Board and chat with the members, but also for a New Star Discovery. Our dear President, Francesca Wels, revealed her musical talent, giving a brilliant performance with the cheerful Swiss Glocken-Duo.
The ambience was truly joyful and festive. We had a delightful apéro with amazing views of Zürich, Lake Zürich and the Alps, followed by a delicious lunch with a musical surprise.
We also had an opportunity to admire the unique style of the hotel, recognized as an architectural jewel.
Taking this opportunity, the ZIWA President would like to give her wishes to all of us:
"ZIWA's last Monthly Meeting and Christmas lunch 2011 will definitely ring a bell to me and will trigger merry memories! I wish all our members Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!" - Francesca Wels
Some comments about the Christmas Lunch:
"I really enjoyed my first ZIWA Christmas lunch yesterday, so a big thank you to all who organized and helped." - Dianne Dawson
"The hotel setting is beautiful with a wonderful view over the lake of Zürich and the white topped mountains. As usual, it was lovely to meet so many ZIWA members and chat to everyone." - Pamela Hughes
"It was lovely to see some of you at the terrific ZIWA Christmas luncheon. The venue, the Zürichberg Hotel, offered stupendous views of the Alps, wow, didn't it? As I walked up the hill from the tram stop I thought about my first anniversary of moving to Switzerland coming up next week, and how a year ago I didn't know any of the women I was about to see again. Now I was walking into a room with many familiar faces, wonderful women who I've met at various ZIWA outings and activities this year from Tonhalle Lunch Concerts to Half Day Hikes. Being recognized by these women would be the added bonus." - Debra Taylor
