ZIWA Activities and Interest Groups

Conversation Groups

Interest Group	When/Where
Aargau German Group	Every fourth Tuesday of the month, in Birrwil	We meet at the Chairlady's home.
English I	Twice a month, on Monday afternoon	We meet at different members' homes. We have coffee and a chat and we read and discuss a book. Only English is spoken. Regular attendance is expected.
English II	Various days during the month, in Küsnacht	We meet at the Chairlady's home.
English Composition and Grammar	Writing in English. Usually on the first Friday of the month, in the afternoon.	ETH, Zürich, faculty café
Advanced French Conversation	Third Tuesday of the month, in Meilen	We meet at the Chairlady's home For members who already have a strong base in French. Everyone will participate, speak and laugh. La langue de Goethe ou de Shakespeare sera donc remplacée par celle de Molière ... Topic of the day will be given upon reservation. A bientôt!
High German	Every Monday morning, in Zürich	We meet in a cafe.
German II	in Glattbrugg	We meet at the Chairlady's home. We speak only German. Pronunciation and grammar are corrected during the conversation.
Italian Conversation	Once a month, on a Monday morning	Each time we select a central theme for discussion. Each person has a chance to express her opinion in Italian. Our discussions are very lively.
Language Exchange 1:1	Two people meet privately and learn to speak the language of the other.	Please contact the Chairlady to see the offered languages and the requested ones.
Spanish lessons and conversation	Usually first and third Tuesdays, in the afternoon. in Zürich.	We meet in a private home, Some basic knowledge of Spanish is required for this group.
Writing in German	by post	The idea behind this Interest Group is practising and improving your German writing abilities. You can choose any subject you would like to write about or ,if you prefer, one will be chosen for you. We will 'converse' with one another by post, your grammar and sentence structure will be corrected and comments and suggestions on your writing style will be made. Send your papers by post and include a stamped, addressed envelope.
